Patricia Gold
Peony
A long time resident of Alexandria, Virginia, Patricia Gold was
introduced to brush painting in 1966-68 in Okinawa during her husband's
assignment there. She then put aside oil and watercolour painting in
favour of this beautiful art.
Lessons were by Professor Miyagi from the
University of the Ryukus. Further studies in the U.S. were from Henry
Wo Yue-Kee and visiting artists sponsored by the Sumi-e Society,
including workshops by Dr. Ning Yeh.
She participated in one-person and
group shows in Virginia featuring brush painting and received awards.
She continues to paint and interpret the beauty of flowers exclusively
in the venue of brush painting.
