My mother and I took two different likings to the art of Etegami. She really was passionate about brush painting artists using their already developed style and techniques and simplify their compositions into mini masterpieces on postcard stock similar to shuen paper. No need to wet-mount, just paint and mail. On the other hand, I gravitated toward how etegami involved an approach that anyone can create this beautiful mail art without a particular trained talent - just being able to share a personal thought with a cute hand drawn picture.
Whatever approach you decide to take, let OAS's paper sampler in postcard and greeting card sizes give you a sampling of the different types of card stock that we have available to help bring the artist within you out!
Includes five types of mail art cardstock: 1) two types of shuen-like postcard stock popular with Etegami artists who like the bleed, 2) western watercolor postcard stock, 3) printmaking postcard stock, 4) western mounting sheet postcard size, 5) Two (2) OAS's Paint Your Own Cards with envelope plus a postcard size sheet of Salmon Color Shuen. In addition, a mini "Guide to Samples" using a simple how-to Morning Glory Composition for demonstration.
