Chinese Painting DVDs: Chinese Landscape DVDsChinese landscape painting or shan shui (山水) first rose to prominence during the Song Dynasty (960-1279 CE). This style of landscape painting which is still practiced today is quite detailed and meticulous. In the late 1800s a number of artists painting in a much more abstract and spontaneous style began to exert their influence. This style of painting is often referred to as Lingnan style in reference to the Guandong province in the South of China which was part of a larger area called Lingnan in the Tang Dynasty (618-906). Ning Yeh's style is a blend of these styles infusing a sense of spontaneity and certain new techniques into the more traditional landscape painting. In this section, we are also offering select DVDs from Ning's Dream Journey Artist Tours to China. Each of these DVDs is an invaluable source of inspiration with breathtaking footage from classic locations such as Yellow Mountain (Huangshan) and West Lake (Hangzhou). |
